COME AS YOU ARE
Come Alone. Leave Knowing People.
You don't need to bring a friend to belong at the Serendipity table.
Many people come to Studio Time on their own. That's part of what makes it special. Settle in with your project, meet other makers and let conversation happen naturally while everyone creates.
There's no pressure to be social and no expectation that you already know anyone. Some days you'll chat and share ideas. Other days you may simply enjoy creating quietly in the company of others.
However you like to create, there's a place for you here.
Come for the creative time. You may just find your creative people.

Studio Time Questions
What exactly is Studio Time?
Studio Time is dedicated creative time in our Los Alamitos studio. Bring a project you’re already working on—or one you’ve been meaning to start—and enjoy three uninterrupted hours to create at your own pace alongside other makers. A Serendipity Creative Guide is nearby if you need a little help along the way.
Do I need to be experienced?
Not at all. Studio Time is for makers at many experience levels. You should be comfortable working primarily on your own project, but you don’t need to be an expert. If you get stuck, your Creative Guide can help you troubleshoot and share helpful tips and techniques.
What should I bring?
Bring the project you’d like to work on and the materials and supplies it requires. Sewing, quilting, bag making, embroidery, hand stitching, beading, watercolor, acrylic painting and other portable creative projects are welcome.
Can I bring my sewing machine?
Absolutely. Please bring your sewing machine along with its power cord, foot pedal and any accessories or specialty feet you’ll need for your project. We’ll provide the creative space—you bring the machine you already know and love.
Are materials and supplies included?
Materials for your personal project are not included in Studio Time. Bring what you need from home, and you’ll also be able to shop Serendipity CreArt for fabrics, notions, tools and other creative finds if you discover you need something while you’re here.
Is Studio Time a class?
No. There is no assigned project or formal lesson. Studio Time is designed for independent creating in a welcoming, supportive environment. Your Creative Guide can answer questions, help troubleshoot and demonstrate a quick technique when appropriate, but Studio Time is not a private lesson or structured workshop.
Can I come by myself?
Please do! Many makers come on their own. Studio Time is designed to make it easy to settle in, work on your project and naturally meet other creative people. There’s no pressure to socialize—you’re just as welcome to quietly create in the company of others.
How long is Studio Time, and do I need to reserve a spot?
- Each Studio Time session is three hours and is limited to 10 makers so the studio stays comfortable and welcoming. We recommend reserving your spot in advance, especially for popular sessions.
